Officials of the Students' Union Government this weekend, shut down shops and butteries all over campus for non-compliance with the price regime published at the beginning of the semester.

The time has come for youths to take active steps and become more proactive in the society rather than merely listen to motivational talks. This was the view of Miss Kunbi Adeoye, Saturday, 21 February, 2009 at the flag-off ceremony of her new organization, Sesewa Support Services.
The ceremony, which witnessed the attendance of heads of campus organizations on the Obafemi Awolowo University and members of various press outfits amongst others, offered an avenue for those in attendance to interact with the pioneers of the organization on the ideals behind the establishment of the organization and their specific corporate goals.

The President, Obafemi Awolowo University Student Union, Adejuwon David (Devaino) has denied all allegations of financial impropriety leveled against him by the legislative arm of the union.
In an exclusive interview with OAU Central correspondent, Oluwaseun Adedayo Omotoso, he stated that the controversy rocking the ranks of the union and especially his office was borne out of personal differences between him and certain members of the union.
